FAQ

  • Where did the name "10,000 Reasons" come from?

We did the math! If 100 members give $100 every quarter, then one local non-profit will receive $10,000 each quarter. That’s 10,000 reasons to become a part of our volunteer organization.

  • How much of the money goes to the non-profit who wins?

100%! We are a non-entity run completely by volunteers. Every dollar from member donations go to local non-profits

  • What organziations are eligible for nomination?

Any registered 501(c)(3) in Daviess County, Kentucky is eligible. When a non-profit is chosen, they are ineligible to win again for 24 months. Organizations that are chosen as the top three, but do not win, are eligible to be nominated again at the next meeting.

  • How do I become a member?

Complete the form HERE to become a member.

  • How do I know about upcoming events?

Members will receive emails reminding them of upcoming events, social gatherings, and status of non-profit nominations.

  • What if I can’t attend a meeting?

Please make every effort to attend all meetings. We know conflicts come up. If you can’t make it, please contact us to arrange to give your donation to a leadership team member.

  • What forms of payment do you take?

Currently we only accept CASH or CHECK. Please make sure you bring a blank check or visit an ATM before attending the meeting. Our hosts do not have an ATM available on-site.

  • How do I apply for my non-profit to win?

There is no official application process for 10,000 Reasons. At the end of each meeting, the men who attended nominate non-profits they'd like to see the next quarter. After the meeting, the list of nominated non-profits goes out to our entire membership for review. This includes a link to each so they can learn more about them. The members then vote on who they want to see, and the top three get to present at the next quarterly meeting. To be considered, you simply need men to show up to the meetings who will nominate you.

  • Can a non-profit win more than once?

We have some mechanisms in place to ensure we don't see from the same non-profits all the time. Once a non-profit wins, they cannot present or win again for another 2 years. Also, a non-profit can only be nominated and present up to twice per year.
